Falkenberg next for green hydrogen gas station?

Wind Sweden has initiated a collaboration between Wind Sweden, Nilsson Energy, Falkenberg Energi, EnBW Sweden and Region Halland, which aims to realize the plans to establish a filling station for hydrogen in Falkenberg.
Emissions from domestic transport account for a third of Sweden's total carbon dioxide emissions. Sweden's environmental goal is for greenhouse gas emissions from domestic transport to be reduced by at least 70 percent by 2030 compared to 2010. One of the central parts of the work to reduce emissions from the transport sector is the transition from fossil fuels to renewable fuels and electrification
In 2018, Falkenberg Municipality and Falkenberg Energi participated in the Interreg project The Blue Move for Green Economy. The starting point of the project was that fuel cell-powered vehicles powered by sustainably produced hydrogen can contribute to a fossil-independent vehicle fleet. Falkenberg was identified as particularly suitable for the establishment of a filling station for hydrogen based on the municipality's location along the transport-intensive E6 and the good access to available and planned renewable energy. Wind Sweden has taken note of Blue Mov's conclusions and initiated P2X Falkenberg (Power to gas Falkenberg), which is Halland's contribution to participation in Energiforsk's program "The role of hydrogen in energy and climate change". P2X Falkenberg is a collaboration between Wind Sweden, Nilsson Energy, Falkenberg Energi, EnBW Sweden and Region Halland and aims to realize the plans to establish a filling station for hydrogen in Falkenberg. The next step will be to develop a feasibility study with a detailed plan for:
location,
how a new hydrogen filling station should best be supplied with electricity from a combined wind power / solar power plant
volume, scalability and storage options
plan for the construction of both the electricity generation plant and the hydrogen filling station at the designated site
to promote future development and put Falkenberg in a larger context
As the initiator of P2X, Wind Sweden sees that a crucial success factor is the collaboration between a diversity of local actors who can all contribute with their unique competence to quickly and efficiently go from idea to realization. The expansion of infrastructure for sustainable fuels is crucial for transport and passenger vehicles to become fossil-independent in the near future
